200 MILLION YEARS AGO

200m years ago, valleys flooded but Kerry stayed above the sea.

Current mountains are the stumps of previous ranges; valleys were flooded; bays were submerged; rivers equal Kenmare Bay. The Himalayas are young compared to the Reeks. "Beann" is one of the hardest, therefore higher, stumps.
